Medical Science Liaison
Reporting initially to the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Science Liaison facilitates and develops the relationship with the medical/scientific community including physicians and medical centers, by communicating product-related information to investigators and institutions. Provides information on research developments, and new concepts in medical treatment, giving perspective to field activities associated with growing existing products, and bringing new products to market.
Essential Duties:
- Reach out to his/her own expert’s network established prior to or throughout the period performing as an MSL and consolidate interactions by increasing network’s awareness of PoNS therapy and clinical research in stroke or other relevant neurological conditions.
- Develop new relationships within professional and academic communities for our existing and target indications and inform HCP’s, thought leaders and payers on PoNS’ therapeutic effect and mechanism of action.
- Assist in the development and design of education materials, including whitepapers, clinical data, professional publications, and patient testimonials to support the understanding of the therapy and foster its endorsement as an innovative treatment for the relevant patient population.
- Support the collection of data as it relates to clinical trials for therapy’s applications in collaboration with clinical research team.
- Support health care providers with grant submissions and publications.
- Lead, develop, and implement local, regional and national programs to promote disease state and product awareness and education.
- Assist with establishing a KOL’s speakers’ bureau leveraging the current network and expanding to new key opinion leaders (KOLs)
- Serve as key clinical/scientific resource to internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to complex medical questions from institutional-based health care providers and support internal team with addressing medical inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Advanced degree or certification in health sciences in a medically related field (PharmD, M.D., Ph.D.) from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 3 years MSL experience with at least two years of established field work experience and network development in stroke.
- Comfort and ability to travel up to 75% of the time, ability to successfully manage appointments, meetings, events, and conferences throughout the US.
- Experience/knowledge in neurological disease and including, among others and in addition to stroke, multiple sclerosis and traumatic brain injury.
- Experience/knowledge in physical rehabilitation field is preferred.
